Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Perkz (perkz.to) collects, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It is written to be readable and applies to the Perkz website and service. It is not legal advice.

What we collect

Account data. When you create an account or sign in, we store your email address and, if you sign in with GitHub, identity data GitHub shares with us — typically your GitHub user ID, username, avatar, and the email address on your GitHub account.

Purchase data. When you buy something through Perkz, we store details of the order: which product, the order status, and timestamps. We need this to grant and later revoke access where required.

Seller configuration. If you sell through Perkz, we store what you configure: which repositories to grant access to, Discord server invite details, license keys, and download files. Some of this is sensitive access information; treat it accordingly.

Payment data. We do not see or store your full card details. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors (Polar, Stripe, and Lemon Squeezy). They collect and process your payment information under their own privacy policies, which apply to that part of your transaction.

Technical data. Like most websites, we log technical information: IP address, browser and device details, and pages visited. We use cookies and similar technologies for essentials like keeping you signed in, and may use them for analytics.

How we use it

We use the data above to:

  • Operate the service: create accounts, process orders, and fulfill purchases.
  • Grant access when a payment clears and revoke it on refunds, chargebacks, or violations of our terms.
  • Provide support and answer questions about orders and accounts.
  • Keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting requirements.
  • Understand usage so we can improve the product.

We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share it with

Payment processors. Polar, Stripe, and Lemon Squeezy process payments and receive the data needed for that, under their own policies.

Service providers. Hosting, email, and infrastructure providers that help us run the service, subject to confidentiality and data-processing terms.

Third-party platforms used for fulfillment. To deliver what you buy, we act on your behalf against platforms such as GitHub and Discord — for example, inviting your GitHub account to a repository. Those platforms have their own privacy policies.

Where required by law. We may disclose data if we believe it necessary to comply with legal process, protect our rights, or prevent harm.

Where data protection law applies, we process personal data on these bases: performing our contract with you (running your account and orders), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the service), your consent (for example, optional marketing or analytics where applicable), and compliance with legal obligations.

How long we keep it

We keep account and purchase data for as long as your account is active, plus as long afterwards as needed for legitimate business purposes such as tax, accounting, and dispute handling. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymize it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We respond within the timeframes the law requires.

Cookies

Cookies we set are used for essential functions like authentication and sessions, and possibly for analytics. Your browser settings let you control or delete cookies; disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the service (like staying signed in) from working.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Perkz is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the minimum age applicable in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of Perkz after a change means you accept the updated policy.
